Un Otro Cambio Esta Terminando...

E-mail from Connor on June 22, 2015... SORRY, HE DOESN'T SEND US PICTURES! Argh!

So this week nothing crazy really happened other than the fact that we had the most lessons this sector has had for approximately 5 months! WOOOOOOO 22 lessons! 4 of our investigators came to Church this Sunday too! I was so pumped! Pedro participates more during the classes than any other member of the ward! The teachers love him because he answers every question. The problem is that he still has a lot of doubts about the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith. I'm trying to have him just focus in the gospel principles rather than Joseph Smith. I told him that the gospel is perfect and that's what he should focus on before he just focuses on whether Joseph Smith was a prophet or not. If you feel that the gospel is true then EVERYTHING ELSE FOLLOWS. He thinks that it is really admirable that we have the word of wisdom and the law of chastity, and he really just loves everything about the Church, but he just doesn't know if Joseph Smith was a prophet. He's going to be baptized, we've just got to be patient. I absolutely love the guy too. He's 60 years old and a lawyer and he is just so funny. Every time we come to visit he always speaks to us in English  to just greet us. "Hello, hello my friends Elder Wee Wee Wee verrrr y Elder Cooberson, how are you all today, I am great, please please come come in." Then after that he always gives us the biggest Chileno hug-and-shake combo. He’s such a great guy with a very great heart, all he needs is baptism.

Other than Pedro we had La Familia Tapia come to Church and our ward family home evening this Saturday night! Their dad is a member of the church, but he's inactive and they've now gone to Church 2 times! They’re already basically apart of the ward and they'll be baptized this next change. We found them about 3 weeks ago and they're great!

We also have Javiera and Rosa with baptismal dates. Rosa is the woman who has cancer.

We got into a house this week with a large family and it was quite the experience. They were super nice, but then their Dad who walked into the room and you could immediately feel the spirit leave the room. I can honestly say that my testimony grew in that moment. I gave a powerful testimony that I know this is the Church of Jesus Christ and that we are the only Church that has the authority to baptize. I said that I could never deny this because I've had too many spiritual experiences that have verified this truth. They weren’t having any of it though, at least not the Dad, and none of them wanted to commit to a baptism or another date.  Elder Culbertson was like "wow, that was intense" as soon as we left. We did end up leaving with some of their food though. The funny thing is that none of them ever said that their church was the church of Christ. They just said "Oh, all churches that believe in Christ are true." I just find it funny that some people can’t even stand up for their own beliefs here.  I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Christ’s church on the earth today, and I will always testify of this boldly!

Other than that just more door slams and people showing me their tattoos because I act like Grandpa Weaver and act like I'm really interested in their tats. One guy even lifted up his shirt and everything to show me. Fun stuff.

I get to bear testimony of my Church a lot here. It takes courage, but I've yet to have anyone attack me after I bear a power witness of my Savior Jesus Christ. NEVER BE ASHAMED OF SOMETHING THAT IS RIGHT!  Always stand up for what you believe in every time!  People have their agency, but at judgement-day I will say, “I never denied the faith.”

I love all of you so much. Thank you for the support! Que les vayan bien!

Elder Weaver
